The following is an excerpt from our Constitution, describing the purposes of CAVCA:
To encourage and develop cooperation amoung all accredited police organizations in the professional and ethical use of Criminal Investigative Analysis and related techniques;
To encourage and develop cooperation amoung all accredited police organizations in the professional and ethical use of the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System (ViCLAS) and related computer systems;
To advance the scientific, professional and public acceptance of the contributions of Criminal Investigative Analysis and related techniques in the promotion of public welfare;
To promote and maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, honour and conduct in using Criminal Investigative Analysis and related techniques;
To advance the knowledge, skill and status of those persons engaged in the field of Violent Crime Analysis by providing a clearing house for ideas and experience, as well as promoting and participating in research and discussion on all aspects of Violent Crime Analysis.
To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the
attainment of the objectives expressed here.
